Meet My Husband
My husband is Raymond Schad and he's from Hudson, Kansas. He is the fifth of six children. Raymond grew up in a small town (population about 150 people) in the south central part of Kansas. He's about three years older than me and is 5'7". My husband has been doing his genealogy for over twenty years and has built three websites. Raymond has built a website for his family history, one for his sister's bookstore and this site for me.
Now that you have met him, let me tell you how we met. He has a co-worker who was playing in poppit. She was popping balloons and chatting with people in the chat room that's by the game. She introduced her co-worker, Raymond, to everyone. He was chatting with all of us and one day I asked him if he had instant messenger so that we could chat one on one. He said he did and we've been chatting everyday since. Raymond is very sweet and cute and loving and funny and I don't know what I'd do without him. I love him very much. He makes me so happy and makes me laugh.
We both like to play card games. He has taught me a few games and I have taught him some card games as well. We both love to watch M*A*S*H as often as we can. He came up in June to visit me and we went to Niagara Falls. We took the Maid of the Mist ride to the Falls. It was on this boat to the Falls that Raymond proposed to me. Of course I said "yes". We were married in the little city of Welland, Ontario which is where I grew up. We are sooooo happy together.
[NOTE FROM RAYMOND: Hi, I'm Raymond, Rachel's husband. I just wanted to tell everyone about what I personally know about Rachel. She is an amazing woman. She has not let her disabilities slow her down one bit. Once you get to know her you forget all about her disabilities. She uses a motorized scooter to get around. It's tough getting around a big city like Toronto on foot but she manages to get around on her scooter. I'm impressed at how well she manages to get through all that foot traffic and trying to cross the street in the scooter. She has a great sense of humor and is so kind and wonderful. I could type a million pages to keep telling you about her. Everyone who has ever met her thinks she's sweet, cute and adorable. You know what? They're right. They don't come any better than Rachel. Rachel loves me and I love her and I want everyone to know that.]
